My Story

Greetings!

I started my career in education, specifically counseling psychology. I use this background to train people how to communicate with their dogs and get what they want out of their furry companions. Training is communication. Let's speak the language, develop great relationships with our animals and lead them to live happy stress-free lives!

I use the work that I have put into training my 7 year old Cane Corso into practice. I adopted her at 4 years old from a puppy mill where she was birthing puppies. Two of her littermates were found on the street together. Her brother had a broken jaw and sister had a broken leg. She had a recently healed, not treated, torn ACL and required surgery in both of her eyes due to entropion and ectropion. Clearly, it was not a good situation. To this day she is still terrified of her own feces. She only knew the command sit when I got her.  All of this was her past life. Since day one I have had her on a schedule and we started training and pack walking. She is a rotten in door only dog and is AKC titled for the following.

  • Canine Good Citizen

  • Canine Good Citizen Urban

  • Canine Good Citizen Community

  • Trick (Level 1)

With this background I focus on teaching the owners how to communicate and most importantly lead their dog. We practice structure, high behavior expectations, crystal clear communication and setting the dog up for success. This is easier said than done, so some times a board and train is necessary and then I will had over the reigns to the owner. At the end of the day, my goal is to empower the dog owner to be a good kahu (guardian, protector, caretaker of something precious) to their dog.

Sincerely,
